WE’RE SCHLEPPING THRU AP PREPPING… 06 APRIL 2018 FR

  1. WEEK OF APRIL 9

On Monday, in class we will review the AP prompt we wrote on this past Friday, as well as the 9-point AP rubric and how your own individual assessments of student sample essays went this weekend… You will also receive an optional analytic writing assignment that you may do if you’d like… Finally, I will help you begin the process of creating your own AP “open” essay prompt.

DON’T FORGET ABOUT THE LUNCH AP LIT MEETING IN THE LIBRARY AUDITORIUM — BRING YOUR PACKETS…

    Tuesday/no classes

WE/block: I will be in and out on this day, as we have our two Weiner Fellows coming in and I will be needing to tend to them. Please bring your “open” essay prompt to class and come prepared to spend some of your time during block writing an essay based upon the prompt that you create. What time you do not spend writing, please come to class prepared to do some reading for your “choice” read requirements.

    TH: Syntax workshop.

FR: “Choice” read day — please come prepared to read one of your choice reads in class…

  2. Reminders: On Monday we will meet at lunch in the Library Auditorium with the other AP Lit students to talk about scoring on the AP Lit exam and the analytic essay you wrote on this past Friday. Don’t forget to bring your packet.
  3. By the end of next week (FR), you should be able to see some feedback from me on your WAM3s when you open your essay up in TIN. I’ll hand out some ideas about your final WAMs (#5) on this coming FR as well.
  4. It’s a little early, but pretty soon I should be seeing ya’ll making plans with me to start taking your choice read quizzes — FYI. Don’t forget that in addition to taking a quiz, you also need to fill out an outline for both of your reads.
